“STOP SHOOTING” Free Concert by Un/Heard

THIS SATURDAY, May 18th at 7 p.m. in the CPC Sanctuary

Un/Heard is a tenor based choir advocating for LGBTQ+ rights. STOP SHOOTING is a concert about the effects of gun violence in our LGBTQ+ community.

Our amazing CPC Music Director, Carlos Cordero is the Founder and Artistic Director of Un/Heard. To learn more about this music program and to get your free concert ticket, click here.  You will see a button on the upper right hand corner that reads, “Donate and Tickets.” You do not need to make a donation to attend the concert.

CPC Hosts Gun Violence Awareness Installation

In May, CPC is participating in a statewide initiative focused on addressing gun violence. Vidas Robadas (Stolen Lives) is a Texas Impact project where names of gun violence victims are written on t-shirts and displayed outside churches and other institutions. Through memorializing victims of gun violence, Vidas Robadas localizes and makes visible the reality of gun violence for communities across our state.

CPC’s Neighbors Program advocates for people experiencing homelessness

CPC is asking city leaders to consider policies that will better address the crises that our neighbors without homes are facing. Staff have met with leaders to ask for more emergency shelter beds and greater accessibility for individuals with the highest risk. We’re also asking for safe places for our neighbors to camp and park their cars. Read more about our advocacy efforts and the Neighbors Program here.

Cleaning out your closets? Donate clothes to CPC

Our unhoused neighbors who come to Central Mission on Thursdays have been very appreciative of the clothing that we offer each week.

However, there is a huge ongoing need for men’s pants, jackets, shirts and shoes.

Donations can be dropped of at CPC Tuesday-Friday between 9:00 and 2:00.  Thank you for your generosity!

Crop Walk is February 25!

Again this year CPC will have a team walking in the CROP WALK at Camp Mabry on Sunday, February 25th at 2 p.m.

Last year CPC’s Team raised $3,060!  Funds raised at the Austin Crop Walk support Central Texas Food Bank, Casa Marianella, Manos de Cristo, Micah 6 of Austin, Faith Food Pantry, Mt. Olive Baptist Church Food Pantry, Urban Roots, and Austin City Lutherans Bread for All.

Join CPCs team, or donate online at 2024 CROP Hunger Walk – Central Presbyterian Church – Austin

Please help us reach our $3,500 goal!  We have a silent donor who will contribute $50 for anyone who registers online under the CPC team and raises at least $50.
